Stein Or.d 72 anekasya kusumauṣadhisaṃbandhino rasasyāsvādanāt kṛto yo rasāyanasaṃgrahaḥ pānam, tena susthitā śobhanam āsitā. uktam: anekarasābhyavahārato rasāyanānām anya iti. yadi vā rasāyanam atra madhu, tatsañcayena susthitā, sampūrṇodaratayā manāg api calitum aśaktā rasābhyavahāreṇa sukham anvabhūd ity arthaḥ.

madhuretyādi viśeṣakam. ratirasena visṛṣṭā yāḥ savayaso vacanenāgate priyatame viṣaya āyataṃ mānaṃ muñcanti yāḥ, tathāvidhā yoṣito babhūvuḥ. mādhavy atimuktakalatā. malīmasāḥ pāpāḥ. smarasya sahāḥ samucitāḥ taruṇīr ity arthaḥ || 10 ||
madhu: manojñavikāsā yā mādhavīlatāyā madhupānena mattā malīmasāś ca kṛṣṇā, atha ca pāpina iva bhramarāh striyo vyathayantu. nāma yat kuravakatarustabakaś citayā spītayā śucitayā śuddhatvenopalakṣito 'pi virahiṇīr vyathayati, tad ayuktam iti dvābhyāṃ kriyā. śatro spaṣṭarasaḥ śṛṅgārādibhiḥ hāvo 'kṣibhrūvikārādinā, tatsūcako vyāpāraḥ.
dadhad udañcitapakṣmakarālatāṃ kurabakastabako madhubodhitaḥ |
tad asamañjasam eṣa dunoti yac chucitayā citayāpi viyoginīḥ || 11 ||
pakṣmabhiḥ kesaraiḥ karālatā vyāptir bhāsuratvaṃ vā. śucitayāpy upalakṣito yad eṣa stabakas tāpayati tad ayuktam. viśadātmatvāt paropatāpanābhāvāt. citayā pravṛddhayā. pakṣmāṇi netralomāny api. karālaṃ bhīṣaṇam api. madhu madyam api || 11 ||
tad abhidhāya tam ānaya satvaraṃ madhuravādini tat tad iti striyaḥ |

tat tasmāt tat tad bahuvidham uktvā taṃ dayitaṃ satvaram ānaya! na vayaṃ kālakṣepasahiṣṇava iti bhāvaḥ || 12 ||
tada: he madhuravādini! yasmāt kurabakastabako 'pi vyathayati, tat tasmāt tat tan nānāprakāraṃ kiñcid abhidhāya taṃ priyam ānayeti rasena sakhīṣu niyuktavacanā abhavan. ata eva gate sati priyatame dīrgham api mānaṃ muñcanti yāḥ. kecit tu sākhīvacanād āgateṣu priyatameṣu mānamuca ity ahuḥ ||
jaraṭhapaṅkajabījasamatviṣo madhu nipātum abhiprajagalbhire |
madhuliho virahe kṛtadiṅmukhavyavadhayo vadhayogakṛtaḥ striyaḥ || 13 ||
paṅkajabījaṃ padmākṣaḥ. vyavadhir ācchādanam. strivirahe sati vadhayogakṛto ghātukāḥ. strīhananāc ca madyapānaprāgalbhyaṃ malinātmanāṃ kiyat || 13 ||
jara: pariṇataiḥ paṅkajabījaiḥ padmākṣais tulyatviṣo bhṛṅgāḥ. madhu niḥśeṣeṇa pātuṃ pragalbhā āsan. vyavadhiḥ hāraṃ. virahe sati striyo vadhayogakṛtaḥ mārakāḥ.
surabhimāsi kadācid anujjhitā jaḍatayāpi navāliśatānvitāḥ |
śamavatām api tāmarasākarāḥ sthiratarā ratarāgakṛto 'bhavan || 14 ||
jaḍatayā maunena na tyaktāḥ. bāliśatayā ca maugdhyena na sahitā iti virodhaḥ. jaḍatayā śaityenānapākṛtāḥ. navāni ca yāny aliśatāni, tair anvitāḥ. ... || 14 ||
sura: jaḍatā śaityam. navair aliśatair bhramaravṛndair anvitāḥ. ataś ca ye jaḍatayā maurkhyenātyaktāḥ, te kathaṃ bāliśatayā mūrkhatvena yuktā na syur iti. virodhaḥ: munīnām api rate surataviṣaye rāgaṃ kurvanti ye.
sarasamantharatāmarasādarabhramarasajjalayā nalinī madhau |
jaladhidevatayā sadṛśīṃ śriyaṃ sphuṭatarāgatarāgarucir dadhau || 15 ||

sara: sarasaṃ mantharaṃ ca kṛtvā tāmarasaviṣayenādareṇa bhramarāṇāṃ sajjaḥ pratyāsanno laya 'śeṣo yasyām. sphuṭatarāgatā jātā rāgeṇāruṇatayā rucir yasyāḥ. aparatra sarasā manthe ca ratā ye 'marāḥ, teṣāṃ sādam avasādaṃ ti dadāti yo bhramo bhramaṇam, tena rasat saśabdaṃ jalaṃ yasya. tayāgasya mandarādrer yaḥ taras taraṇam, tenāgena ca pārijātataruṇā rucir yasyāḥ, iti vibhaktivipariṇāmena yojyam.

tāpavighātasya viparyayo 'nyathātvam atrāparighātaḥ. tatsthityā vilakṣatā trapā. ayukchadāḥ saptacchadās teṣāṃ kānanaiḥ, ayukchadakānāṃ vā ānanair mukhair asamahāsaṃ kṛtvā niyatam ambudā ahāsiṣata. vayam adhunā tāpopaghātapaṭavaḥ, na yūyam itīva vikasvaratvena hasitā ity arthaḥ. hāso vikāso hasanaṃ ca. ahāsiṣatety upadhāvṛddhir ātmanepadaviṣayatvāc ciṇvadbhāvaprasaṅgāc ca. tasmāt kānanakartṛko 'samo hāso yatra tathā kṛtvā aha kaṣṭaṃ āsiṣateti yojyam || 66 ||
asalilāhimaśītamahāhradāḥ śaśabhṛto janatādavathucchidaḥ |
kumudakhaṇḍagataṃ madhupāyinām adalayan dalayantraṇam aṃśavaḥ || 67 ||
candrāṃśavo bhramarāṇāṃ kumudeṣu dalayantraṇaṃ pattrabandham adalayan bibhiduḥ. davathuḥ saṃtāpaḥ || 67 ||
sthagayituṃ pratikūlavilokanāḥ kusumitāḥ kakubho nu viyoginām |
kamaladhūlim udānayatādhikastavanato vanato 'nilasaṃhatiḥ || 68 ||
adhikastavanato ramyatayā bahalastutibhājo vanataḥ kānanāj jalād vā kamalarajo vātānāṃ samūhaḥ ..., kusumitatvād viruddhadarśanā diśaḥ pidhātum iva. kusumitā rajasvalā api. nuśabda ivārthe || 68 ||
rucir atanyata nirjhariṇītaṭaiḥ śakunipādahatair galitāmbubhiḥ |

ghanānāṃ jālasya tiraskṛtir antardhānaṃ yatra tasyāṃ śaradi nadītaṭair jaghanajā kāntir atanyata. śakunayaḥ khagāḥ || 69 ||
kusumam ārtavam udvahad ucchvasanmadhu karīracitasthitiucchvasan madhukarīracitasthiti kānanam |
na navam āttavatāṃ madhupāyinām alasatā lasatām abhavat kvacit || 70 || '
ucchvasan madhu makarandaṃ yatra, karīraiś ca tarubhedaiś citā vyāptā sthitir yasya tādṛśaṃ vanaṃ gṛhītavatāṃ bhramarāṇām alasatā kvacin nāsīt. kusumam apy ucchvasad vikasvaraṃ madhukarībhiś ca racitasthiti kṛtāvasthānam. ṛtuḥ prāpto 'syārtavam, ‘ṛtor aṇ*’ ity aṇ. lasatāṃ krīḍatām || 70 ||

sthitir avāpi rasakriyayeva ca sphuṭatarāgamaśodhitatārayā |
kṣapitakālikacandrarucollasatkamalayāmalayā śaradaḥ śriyā || 72 ||
rasaḥ pāradaṃ tatkriyā dhātuvādas tayeva śaracchriyā sthitir avāpi padaṃ nibaddham. āgamaḥ pravṛttiḥ śāstrasaṃpradāyaś ca. tārā nakṣatrāṇi tāraṃ ca rūpyam. kālikā kalaṅko vyājaś ca tāmrādikṛtaḥ. candraḥ śaśī suvarṇaṃ ca. kamalāni padmāni, kamalā ca lakṣmīḥ || 72 ||
prasṛtamandasamīrahatikvaṇatkaṇiśarāśi śarajjayaghoṣaṇām |
ciram iva vyadhitāvanimaṇḍalaṃ sakalamaṃ kalamandraravākulam || 73 ||
kaṇiśaṃ sasyamañjarī. kalamaḥ śālibhedaḥ. kalo manoharo mandraś ca yo ravas tenākulaṃ kṛtvā || 73 ||
śaradi haṃsagaṇasya kuṭumbinīrasavitīrṇabisasya riraṃsayā |
samavagāḍhum adhautavinirmalaṃ navasaro 'vasaro 'ticirād abhūt || 74 ||
navaṃ saro viloḍayituṃ haṃsānāṃ gaṇasyāvasaraḥ prasaṅgaś cirād abhūt. kuṭumbinyaḥ priyā haṃsyaḥ || 74 ||
salilatonmadahaṃsaravākulo bhavanamārga ivātimanoharaḥ |
abhṛta niṣkuṭajāṃ śriyam uccakaiḥ sa samayo 'samayogaśaśiprabhaḥ || 75 ||
niṣkuṭajā kuṭajarahitā, kuṭajānāṃ vārṣikatvāt. niṣkuṭā gṛhārāmās tebhyaś ca jātā. asamo 'nanyasadṛśaḥ. śaśiprabhā yoṣito 'pi, śaśinaḥ prabhā yāsām iti kṛtvā || 75 ||
madhupaśāvam adhāyayad uccakair aviśadāravam aṅkavivartinam |
stanam iva stabakaṃ vratatiḥ sravannijarasaṃ jarasaṃ vyatipetuṣī || 76 ||
apāyayat pāyayāmāsa. kvacit ‘adhāpayat’ iti pāṭhaḥ, tatra ‘pādiṣu dheṭa upasaṃkhyānam*’ iti ‘nigaraṇa-*’ iti prāptasya parasmaipadasya niṣedhāt kartrabhiprāye kriyāphale ‘ṇicaś ca*’ iti taṅ. raso madhu stanyaṃ ca. jarasaṃ vyatipetuṣī jarām atikrāntā. ‘jarāyā jaras anyatarasyām*’ iti jaras || 76 ||

prakaṭatālalayaṃ śukavāraṇe kalamagopavadhūnavagītakam |
mṛgagaṇasya manaḥ śrutam ākṣipat pracurasasyarasasya jighatsataḥ || 78 ||
tālāḥ karayoḥ parasparam abhighātāḥ, teṣāṃ layaḥ śobhā śleṣo vā. gītam eva gītakaṃ gānam. gītakaṃ madrakādiviśiṣṭaṃ gītaṃ prakaṭatālalayaṃ bhavati. tatra tālāś cañcapuṭacācapuṭādayaḥ. teṣāṃ layo drutamadhyavilambitabhedena tridhā kālāntarānuvṛttiḥ. uktaṃ ca-‘tālaḥ kālāntarasthāyī drutamadhyavilambitaḥ | tridhā laya iti prokto badarāmalabilvavat ||’ iti. pracure sasye raso yasya. jighatsatas tad evāttum icchataḥ || 78 ||
srutamado girikānanavartmani pratikarīti karīrakulākule |
marud ayukchadasaurabhasaṃbhṛtaḥ kṣubhitatābhitatān akṛta dvipān || 79 ||
samadaḥ pratigajo 'treti bhrāntyā kṣubhitatā kṣobhas tayā vyāptān anilaḥ kuñjarān akarot || 79 ||

sthagitadiṅmukhahaimarajaḥplutaṃ madhukaraḥ kamalākaram atyajat |
tyajati kaḥ prakṛtopakṛtiṃ janaḥ sapadi nāpadi nāma malīmasaḥ || 85 ||
haimaṃ tuhinasaṃbandhi. kamalākaraḥ śrīprado 'pi. āpadi malinaḥ ko nāma prakarṣeṇa kṛtopakāram api na muñcati. ‘praṇayaprakṛtim’ iti pāṭhe snehakāraṇam ity arthaḥ || 85 ||
apaciteṣu pareṣu viṣaṇṇatām upagataṃ kusumeṣv aham utthitam |
tapasi kundam itīva hasat kvaṇanmadhukarālikarālitam abhyadhāt || 86 ||

himaṛtor udakaṇṭhiṣatodayād araśanair aśanair jaghanaiś citāḥ || 87 ||
himartor udayāt aśanair amandaṃ aṅganā udakaṇṭhiṣata sotkaṇṭhā jātāḥ. lavaṅgaṃ puṣpabhedaḥ. araśanaiḥ śītavaśān mekhalāśūnyaiḥ || 87 ||
priyaviyuktavadhūhṛdayaiḥ samaṃ śiśiravāyubhir etya vikampitāḥ |
kusumitāḥ phalinītatayo babhur madhurasādhurasārthimadhuvratāḥ || 88 ||

agaṇitaprasavāntaraviplavavyatikaraḥ sphuṭasaurabham āśritaḥ |
alir amaṃsta mahat tapasaḥ phalaṃ navalavaṅgalavaṃ gahane gireḥ || 89 ||
girigahane bhramaro lavaṅgasya lavam āśritas tapaso māghasya phalaṃ tam evājñāsīt. girigahanasthaś ca munis tapaso vratasya phalaṃ dvandvasahiṣṇutādi samanubhavati. prasavo janmāpi. saurabhaṃ yaśo 'pi || 89 ||
dhṛtagurūṣmapayodharamaṇḍalīnibiḍapīḍitavallabhavakṣasām |
kṣaṇadayā sudṛśāṃ suratotsavakṣamatayā matayā ratir ādadhe || 90 ||
kṣaṇadā rātriḥ, tasyāḥ suratotsave kṣamatvaṃ dīrghataratvāt || 90 ||
smṛtibhuvā hṛdi śalya ivārpite dadhati dārḍhyam atīva ca khādire |
na rajanīrajanīcarayoṣitā jagati kā virahe 'vacakhādire || 91 ||
rajany eva rākṣasī tayā ca kā yoṣito nāvacakhādire? sarvā eva grastāḥ. khādiraṃ śalyaṃ khadiradārumayaḥ kīlakaḥ || 91 ||
mṛgdṛśām abhavat saha vallabhair asamahāsaratālavalīlatā |
śriyam adhān madhunā kṛtaṣaṭpadīrasamahā saratā lavalīlatā || 92 ||
nāsti lavaś chedo yasyās tādṛśī līlā yasya tadbhāvo yoṣitām āsīt. asamahāsam asādhāraṇahasitaṃ rataṃ nidhuvanaṃ yasyāṃ sā. madhunā puṣparasena. saratā pravahatā. kṛtaḥ ṣaṭpadīnāṃ rasamaho rāgotsavo yayā sā lavalīnāma latā ca śuśubhe || 92 ||
kopaḥ ka eva dayite tam ihānayes tvam
āliṃ gatānavamamandarasānunīti |
tenāgatena lalanā gamitā prasādam
āliṅgatā navam amandarasānunīti || 93 ||
dayitaṃ prati na kopo yuktaḥ, tam ānaya tvam’ ity āśayena yoṣid anavame śreṣṭhe mandarasya sānuni āliṃ gatā sakhī jagāma. navam apūrvaṃ amandarasā bahalānurāgā anunītiḥ prārthanā yatra tathā kṛtvā ca tena āliṅgatā saṃpariṣv ajamānena sā prasāditā || 93 ||
lakṣmīṃ vahantam ṛtubhir nagam ity udaṃśu-
ratnasthalīvikasitāmalakesarāgam |
draṣṭuṃ prabhur niragamallulite salīlam
īṣat spṛśan girisutām alake sarāgam || 94 ||
sthalīṣu vikasitā amalāḥ kesarāgā bakulataravo yasya taṃ giriṃ draṣṭuṃ sarāgam alake gaurī spṛśann īśvaro viniryayau. lulite kuṭilīkṛte || 94 ||

iti śrībālabṛhaspatyanujīvino vāgīśvarāṅkasya vidyādhipatyaparanāmno mahākave rājānakaśrīratnākarasya kṛtau ratnāṅke haravijaye mahākāvye ṛtuvarṇano nāma tṛtīyaḥ sargaḥ |

iti rājānakajayānakasūnor alakasya kṛtau haravijayaviṣamapadoddyote tṛtīyaḥ sargaḥ ||
