yuvatīnāṃ samūho yāvataṃ tena puṣpeṣv ekāgratāyogaṃ sphuṭam avatā gacchatā gāndharvasyeva sthitir vihitā nūpurakvaṇitaṃ yogena paryāptaśabdāni padāni yasya tadbhāvenollasatkāntinā gāndharvaṃ ca cetomanoharaṃ puṣpeṣau ca kāme sphuṭam uddīpakatvāt_ avadhānaprayojyaṃ ca tathā paryāptais suraiḥ ṣaḍjādibhiḥ padais svaptiṅ antaiṣ ṣaḍjādisvarādhārabhūtaiḥ tālena ca kālamānarūpeṇa cañcapuṭācācapuṭādinā sacchobhanam_ uktaṃ ca padasthaḥ svarasaṃghātas tālena sumitas tathā prayojyaś cāvadhānena gandharvam abhidhīyata iti
alakā lalāṭalambinaḥ keśāḥ | alakā ca dhanadapurī puṣpakāṃcī kusumamayī rasanā tayā śobhāvān_ puṣpakeṇa vimānenāñcati vrajatīti puṣpakāṃcī kāntimāṃś ca
balī balavāṃs tadbhāve lagnatā prasaktis tato yā abhraṣṭās tāẖ kathaṃ balabhāvena nissahatvaṃ yāntīti virodhaḥ | avarodhas taṃ valayas santi yasya tad valitam_ tundivalivaṭer bhaḥ valitam avalānaṃ madhyaṃ yasya tadbhāvād acyutatvāt strīsamucitena durbalatvena nissahatvāc ca ye sadvṛttās suparivartulā te kathaṃ catuṣkoṇā Lbhavantīti virodhaḥ caturaśratā sarvato bhadratvam iti tv avirodhaḥ |
aṅganānāṃ hārā mauktikaiḥ | śobhāṃ svīcakkrur eva yathā karaṇagaṇair aṅgahārāḥ cārīnṛttahastādiyogajanyaiḥ talapuṣpādibhiḥ karaṇair nirvartyamānāḥ sthirahastādayo ṅgahārā yathāharanti śobhāṃ tathā mauktikaiḥ ¯¯ ityarthāḥ vispaṣṭadārḍhyā ... guṇās tantavaḥ prakaṭaś ca draḍhimaguṇo bhyāsotthaṃ sthairyam_ sthānaṃ pradeśaḥ sthānāni ca vaiṣṇavādyāni || uktaṃ ca . vaiṣṇavaṃ samapādaṃ ca vaiśākhaṃ maṇḍalaṃ tathā | pratyālīḍham athālīḍhaṃ sthānāny etāni ṣaḍ nṛṇām iti | lakṣaṇaṃ svarūpavyavasthāpako dharma tac ca maṇiśāstre bharate
śobha yeṣāṃ apy uktam_ śṛṅgārasthityāramyeṇa pratihāsagarbhavyāpāreṇa mahāvyasanena ca | nāyakenānuyātā caturaṃ kṛtvā kalābhir nṛttagītādibhir āñchitā āyatā śrīr yasyāḥ ataś ca nāṭikeva sāpi hi śṛṅgārasya rasasya sthitir yasyāṃ sā tathā | rarmo narmagarbhasya kaiśikīvṛttibhedasya vyāpāro yasyāṃ sā narmanarmaspaṃjanarmasphoṭanarmagarbhākhyāḥ kaiśikīvṛttibhedāḥ tatra narmagarbhi vijñānarūpaguṇasampadādibhir nāyako guṇair yatra pracchanno vyavaharato kāryavaśān narmagarbhas sa iti lakṣitaḥ tathā | atanavo rasā hāsyādayo ṅgabhūtā yasyāṃ sā nāyakena ca dhīralalitākhyena yuktā caturbhir aṅkair vicchedabhedaiḥ śrīr yasyā tādṛśī ca || uktaṃ ca . īrṣyāpraṇayakrodhaprasādaratiharṣasaṃpannā | bahunṛttagītavādyā śṛṅgārādinayavinayasaṃyuktā virahotsukya samāgamasukhānvitā nṛpaticaritasaṃbaddhā strīprāyā caturaṅkā lalitapadā naṭikety uktā yatrārthasya samāptir yatra ca bījasya bhavati saṃhāraḥ kiṃcid avalagnabindus so ṅka iti satāvagantavya iti vai

anvīto nvitaḥ sugandhir iti gandhasye tve tadekāntagrahaṇasya coditatvād itve na prāpnoti bahirvaikāntiko gandhaḥ | evaṃ tarhi gandhasyāntarlīnatayā kṛttimatvenāpratibhāsanād ekāntikatvam upacari...tam itītvaṃ na virudhyate | upamānād vā bhaviṣyati sugandhir iva sugandhir iti
prastāvo vasaraḥ prastāvanā ca | yasyā lakṣaṇam_ naṭī vidūṣako vāLpi pāripārśvika eva ca sūttradhāreṇa sahitās saṃlāpaṃ yatra kurvate | cittrair vākyais svakāryokthaiḥ vīthyaṅgair anyathāpi vā | nāṭakasya ca | paṃcasandhi caturvṛtti catuṣṣaṣṭyaṅgasaṃyutam_ ṣaṭtriṃśallakṣaṇopetaṃ nāṭakaṃ paricakṣata iti
gāṇikyaṃ gaṇikāsamūhaḥ | gaṇikāyāś cety aupasaṃkhyāniko yañ_ tat kānanaṃ ca giritaṭaṃ lakṣayitvā reje antaram āpnotīty antarāpi keśamadhyaprāntaṃ cūtaṃ vasanam iva bibhrat_ vasanam apy antarā sakhya picunā kāryāse¯¯taṃ vihitam_ giri vāci | sāmodasthiti prahṛṣṭam_ karṇikābhiḥ karṇālaṃkārair abhirāmaṃ saha vikaṭena hāreṇa vartate yaḥ tadbhāvaṃ dadhat_ kānanam api madhyavyāpi cūtaṃ bibhrat sasaurabhasthitibhir giriẖ karṇikābhir oṣadhibhedaiḥ | abhirāmaṃ saha vividhaiḥ kaṭahāraiḫ puṣpabhedair vartate |
nirbāṇā nissṛtabāṇākhyakusu sthitir yasya apavartitā vātena calitā elā niṣkuṭyo yatra dravyaviśeṣā yatra na vibhiḫ pakṣibhiḥ āptam avyāptaṃ tādṛśaṃ na api tu tair vyāptam eva athavā nirbāṇāṃ sthitiṃ viśeṣeṇāptam api tu prāptam eveti yojyam_ anyatra nirvāṇā praśāntā sthitir yatra apagate vartis tairṇaṃ ca yasya naviṇāptaṃ na tadudaye tasya praśaṃsanāt_ taṃ giriṃ prātastanaṃ prābhātikam_ āpe prāptā
nur ivārthe
yuvāna iti pumān striyety ekaśeṣaḥ |||
vāmetyādi kalāpakam_ pāribhadrās taruviśeṣāḥ
harayo vānarāḥ sālās taravas tadviśeṣā va prākārāś ca rāmāḥ striyaḥ rāmaḥ ca dāśarathiḥ śukānāṃ sāraṇamānayanam_ śukasāraṇau ca rāvaṇāpa¯¯ ghanair mustai rucirā akṣā vibhītakā yeṣu tais sānubhir vyāptā ghanarucibhiś ca jaladaprarateḥ rākṣasair anuviddhā
kāṣāyo rasaś cetoharo vā śabdasparśaguṇasya vāyoḥ gandhākhyo guṇe naiva svābhāviko yas tūpalabdhaḥ sa kusumasambhava ity adhiko sau guṇo
gaṇanātigocaraḥ saṃkhyātikrantaviṣayaḥ |||
vasante puṣyanti vāsantyaḥ kālān sādhupuṣyatpacyamāṇeṣv ity aṇ_ vyatijahasur iti karmavyavahāre itaretarānyopapadāc cety ātmanepadābhāvaḥ |||
pariṇatir naśyad avasthatvam_ sugrīṣmo vasantaḥ tathā ca prayogaḥ sugrīṣmake na dṛṣṭo na ca māghaniśāsu dīrghadīrghāsu | draṣṭavyāḫ pathika puro hatāśayā tvaṃ kathaṃ na mayeti | atra ca kundapuṣpaṃ mukulāvastham eva naśyati tasya prāyeṇa śaiśiratvāt_ |||||
pratyagrair aṅkurair aśritaśriyaṃ pratyagrāṃ kuravakākhyaiḥ pakṣibhiś citaśriyaṃ ca pattriṇaḫ pakṣiṇaś śarāś ca śaradi nadītaṭeṣu dhānuṣkair abhyasyaLdbhis saśūtkārāś śarāḥ kṣipyante | mattakāsinī pragalbhā yoṣit_ |||
dhīrās svalpake sthāne naivārtā dainyabhājo bhavanti |||
tretāgniḥ āhavanīyādivahnitrayī tatra sthityā sadṛśaṃ sanniveśaṃ bibhrat_ triṣu pallaveṣv agniṣv avoparisanniveśena vartamāna ityarthaḥ | atra eva kaṇḍūlākhyo hasta eva tatra hy aṅguṣṭatarjanīmadhyamānāṃ tretāgnivadupaviṣṭānām upari vakratayā pṛṣṭhapātinyanāmikā vartate yad uktaṃ tretāgnisaṃsthitā madhyātarjanyaṅguṣṭhakā yadā kāṃgūlo nāmikā vakrā tathā cordhvā kanīyasīti |||
bhagnānāṃ jitānām api punar uktar eva bhaṃgaś chedanam akāri chinnānāṃ ca chedanaṃ punar uktam eva
yat puṣpe kathaṃ tad aṅganāyāḥ phalatvam āpnuyād iti virodhaḥ puṣpasyaiva phalarūpatāpattau kā viruddhārthateti cet_ āha . puṣpatve pīti sati hi pariṇāme puṣpasya phalarūpatā na tu svarūpa evāvasthitasyaiety avirodhaḥ |||
niṣphalo pi tarus tāruṇīśleṣāt phalam abhyadhikaṃ prāpa |||
samunnatā garvitāpi |||
rasaḥ śṛṅgāro pi rāgas saktir api pallavā viṭā api |||
agaṇitā vallīnāṃ vipattir yatra pāne malīmasāḥ pāpā api |||
anasthidurnivītaṃ helayā duṣprāvṛtam_ anurahasam ekānte anvavataptārahasa ity ac_ na na na vyāñjīn prakaṭīcakāra vai lālasā spṛhā |||
ya iṅgitaṃ nājānanti te pi kvacid api kārye dīrghasūtrāḥ kālakṣepiṇo na bhavanti |||
saṃbhramantyās sasaṃbhramāyāḥ neti kākvā |||
anaukahaḥ taravaḥ | asumanaskatā niṣpuṣpatvam_ yasya ca pallavā aṅgabhūtāś chidyate tasyās sumanaskatā daurmanasyaṃ bhavati |||
dhūmyā dhūmasamūhaḥ māśādibhyo yaḥ abhiluṃkhitā jvalitā |||
ānataṃ srastam_ |||
avisaṃsthulān upahatā sphulaśrīḫ paṭamaṃḍapaśobhā kāmasya kusumapradhānais tarubhis saṃpāditā |||
manoramaḥ preyān_ vyalīkaṃ no tra skhalitādivipriyam_ |||
hematāḍyeva tāḍaṅkaḥ karṇābharaṇam_ tatsahite py ekasmin karṇe | prasādhitāsthāṃ maṇḍito yam iti buddhi tathā vadhūr nākṛta yathā sapatnīsammukhaṃ priyaniveśitena pallavena bhage dvitīye |||
pariveśaḫ paridhiḥ |||
upadā ḍhaukanikā |... bibbokaḥ ceṣṭāviśeṣaḥ tenāṃcitaṃ nihiṃcitaṃ ca śiro yasyāḥ | uktaṃ ca . iṣṭānāṃ bhāvānāṃ prāptāvatimānaharṣasambhūtaḥ strīṇām anādharakṛto bibboko nāma vijñeyaḥ kiṃcit pārśvonatagrīvaṃ śiro jñeyaṃ strīṇāṃ caitat prayojayed iti |||
skhalanacchalanaṃ kṛtvā caraṇābhyāṃ durniviṣṭā satī kācit priyasya śirasi śekharaṃ Lbabandha | kandalī latā ||
saṃrambhaḫ prayatnaḥ |||
sāśaṃkaṃ sapatnībhogaśaṃsi priyaṃ snehas
sambādho jalabāhulyam_ raṇaraṇakam utkaṇṭhā paṃcakomo grāmarāgabhedaḥ nirlakṣaṃ nirviṣayam anyatra | gatacittatvān sandaṃśākhyaṃ karāgram abhramayat_ tarjanyaṅguṣṭhasaṃyogas tv arālasya yadā bhavet_ abhugnatalamadhyaś ca sa saṃdaṃśa iti smṛtaḥ ||||
akṣibhravam ity acaturādisūtre nipātitam_ vipakṣavāmas sapatnīpratikūlaḥ recako bhramaṇam_ hāvaḥ ceṣṭāviśeṣa uktaṃ ca . prāpteṣu śṛṅgārasāśrayeṣu bhāveṣu kāmāṅkuracihnabhūtam_ utpatsyato yat smitavīkṣitottham unmīlitaṃ ramyatayā sa hāva iti |||||
udvṛttā unnatavartulā upaplutāś ca guṇas tantus saujanyaṃ ca ||||
nepathyam ākalpaḥ masṛṇam anuddhatam_ āsthā sthitiḥ raso rāgaḥ kaiśikī nāma vṛddhir avasthāviśeṣaḥ ya ślakṣṇanepathyaviśeṣacittrā strīsaṃyu yā bahunṛttagītā kāmopabhogaprabhavopacārā tāṃ kaiśikīṃ nāma vadanti vṛttim_ |||
śekharo gucchaḥ rasaḥ svādaḥ padena kilakiṃcitaṃ ceṣṭāviśeṣaḥ śuṣkaṃ kṣaṇaṃ praruditaṃ kṣaṇam asrupātaḥ krodho muhurhasitam āśu punaś ca gītam_ vyāmiśrarūpam iha harṣarasaprayuktam uktaṃ janaiś śrutadharaiẖ kilakiṃcitākhyam_ |||
śrutau karṇe śrutibhiś ca sukhatā sukhakāritvam_ svarārambhakā dhvanayaḥ kalasvarāḥ kākalīprabhṛtidvāviṃśatibhedāś śrutayaḥ māyūrī mayūrasambandhinī virutiḥ kekā svarasya ṣaḍjasyāśrayatāṃ prāptā ṣaḍjaṃ vadati mayūra ity ukteḥ māyūryākhyā murujā mārjanā | svarāśraya uktaṃ ca . gāndhāro vāmake kāryaṣ ṣaḍjo dakṣiṇapuṣkare | ūrdhvake paṃcamaś caiva māyūryās tu svarāḥ smṛtā iti |||
akṣuṇṇā navā śatamanyu... śatāparādha |||
maṇayaḥ tanmayaiḥ pattrair maṇḍanaśrīr yasyāḥ sadvṛttaiś śubhācārair api ||||
śuṣkā nirarthakā jhaṇ ṭhuṃ ityādayo varṇā yasya tādṛggītatulye tad dhi vaktrapāṇināmnā pūrvaraṅgāṅgeṇa śobhate uktaṃ ca . nādyavṛttivibhāgāya vaktrapāṇir vidhīyata iti mālyācchādanavibhūṣaḥ vilepanānām anāradanyāsaḥ svalpo pi ¯¯śobhām_ janayati yas sā ttu vicchittiḥ
āvadhyombhitvā nisspandatayā jharaṅkāśaṅkā tṛṇapuruṣabhrāntiḥ ||||
avahittham ākārasevavaraṇam_ durvidagdhaṃ duśśikṣitam_ |||
makarandasya śīdhunaś ca pāne vyāsaṅgaḫ prasaktiḥ strībhis tanyamāno libhir yuvatibhiś ca yathākramaṃ navā latā evotsavo navalatākhyaś ca vasantotsavo bhinanditaḥ | yatrābhinavayā vadhvā latayeva Lmadhau drumaḥ | svayam āliṅgyate kāntas sa syān navalatotsavaḥ ||||
kāntis saukumāryaṃ ceti dvandvaḥ | adhyavātsyata adhiṣṭhātāḥ viśeṣe niṣṭhārthitā yeṣām_ viśeṣaniṣkātā viśeṣakuśalāḥ ninadībhyāṃ snātaḥ kauśala iti ṇatvam_ |||
mālyagrathane vikalpāḥ prakārā eva śilpāẖ kalpā guṇyau guṇavān_ kamprakaraṇe anyebhyo pīti yammatvarthīyaḥ
vilepanam aṅgarāgo makkolādiraṃjanaṃ ca aṅgānāṃ ca vartanā yathāsvam atinayāḥ cittre ca kūrśikācir unmīlanā nāṭyaṃ nṛttam eva cittraṃ tasya bhittīr ādhānabhūtāḥ |||
kāleva samayena sphuṭaṃ prakaṭam_ asatā avidyamānena śvasano vāyuḥ
prāpto vaṣṭabdhas san_ ||| tasyāparādhasya smaraṇena pāṭaladṛśyā preyasyā sa yuvā tayā kāṃcyā nibaddhaḥ |||

pramāṇetyādinā śrāntākhyā dṛṣṭir varṇitā yasyā lakṣaṇam_ śramapramlānitapuṭā śyāmāntāñcitalocanā | sann ā patitatārā ca śrāntā dṛṣṭiḫ prakīrtiteti añcitau prasṛtau nipātite adhomukhe
nakhāṅkānakṣakṣatāni ye cāṅkā nāṭyakādyavayavās te bindunā cittrā janasya preyatvam upagatā bhrājante bindur arthaprakṛtiḥ yad uktam_ prayojanānāṃ vicchede yad avicchedakāraṇam_ yāvat samāptir bandhasya sa bandhur iti kīrtitaḥ ...| yo mukhasandhau kṣiptaḥ kila vasati caturṣv api samantāt_ tailasya bindhavo mbhasi yathā sa bījāśrayo bindur iti |||
āsajadbhir nīyamānai ālī sakhī |||
bhṛṅgebhya iti rudhyarthānāṃ prīyamāṇa iti saṃpradānatā svado rucyarthatvāt_ ||| tasya mukhendoḥ dṛṣṭau darśane |||
manasija eva nṛttopādhyāyas tasyāspadatāṃ gatās sudṛśo vihārānte vanotsaṅgān nirīyur nartakya iva tā āpi pāttratvaṃ vāmādy anukartṛtā nāṭakādisamāptā vaṅkād abhinīyamānā nāṭakādy avayavān nartakapūrvaṃ nissarati pūrvatra viṣkambho vistāras tatsthityā viśadapraveśāḥ sugamāḫ panthāno yatreti yojyam_ itaratra viṣkambho viṣkambhakaḥ praveśaḫ praveśakaḥ viṣkambhavatpraveśakasvarūpaṃ yatretyarthaḥ aṅke hi viṣkambhakapraveśakau kathopakṣepakāritayā prāyaśas sudṛśau ataś caikam evāṅke prayuṃjate kavayaś śuddhas saṃkīrṇo vā dvividho viṣkambhako tra vijñeyaḥ madhyamapuruṣaiś śuddhas saṃkīrṇo nīcamadhyakṛtaḥ parijanakathānuviddhaḥ praveśako nāma vijñeyaḥ nottamamadhyamapuruṣair ācarito nāpy udāttavacanakṛtaḥ prākṛtabhāṣācāraḫ prayogam āsādya kartavyaḥ |||
spṛṣṭa īhāmṛgāṇāṃ sū...ṇāṃ ḍimo yuddham_ yatra tathāvidhā vīthikāḫ panthāno yatra śoLbhane ṅke utsaṅge vīnāṃ pakṣiṇām āyogas saṃbandho yatra sphuṭā daśā svocitā avasthā yeṣāṃ teṣāṃ rūpakānāṃ mṛgārbhakānāṃ vyavasthā sthitir yatra atha ca nāṭaka¯¯ prakaraṇam aṅko vyāyoga eva ca bhāṇas samavakāraṇaś ca vīthī prahasanaṃ ḍimaḥ īhāmṛgaś ca vijñeyo daśamaẖ kāvyalakṣaṇa iti yad daśarūpakākhyaṃ kāvyaṃ tad vadavatiṣṭhamānam_ divyapuruṣāt_ kṛto divyastrīkāraṇopagatayuddhaḥ īhāmṛgas tu kāryas susamāhitakāvyabandhaś ca prakhyātavastuviṣayāḫ prakhyātodāttanāyakaś caiva ṣaḍrasalakṣaṇayuktaś caturaṃko vai ḍimaẖ kārya ityādi ca daśarūpakasya lakṣalam abhihitaṃ daśarūpakādhyāye |||
rāsakā mṛgaviśeṣāś ca vāṅkaś cihnam_ rāsakāṅkaś ca rāsakāṃkaś ca kolahokto nāṭyaprakāraḥ | uktaṃ ca . aṣṭau ṣoḍaśa dvātriṃśad yatra nṛtyanti gāyakāḥ | piṃḍībandhānusāreṇa tan nṛttaṃ rāsakaṃ vidur iti tālās taruviśeṣāś caścapuṭacācapuṭādayaś ca
rucirais saikatair abhirāmāẖ
kovidārāś camarakākhyās taravas tatra līnāṃ bhramarapaṅktim ālokya kācit kovidā ralīnāṃ goṣṭīnāṃ prastāvam akarot_
kiṃkiṇyo ghaṇṭikā auṇādayo tra kiṃkaṇīkāśabdaḥ caṃkvaṇe kiṃkaṇa ceti
śālāṃ jayanaśālā iti prasiddhāḥ
taraṅgavāta eva caṭulaṃ dolanaṃ dolā yeṣāṃ tān iti vikasanti svarṇapadmāni yasyām_ ratnacūrṇam eva dhūlis tatpradhānās taṭabhuvo yasyāḥ syandinī nadī ||
