ti­la­kais ta­ru­bhe­dair ujjva­la­pa­ttrābhiś ca latābhiḥ saha va­rta­mā­nā giribhu­vo ra­myāṃ sthi­tim adhā­ra­yan. va­nā­ni kā­na­nā­ni ja­lā­ni vā. ti­la­kaś ci­tra­kaḥ. pa­ttra­la­tāḥ pa­ttra­bha­ṅgāḥ. ta­tsa­hi­tāś ca kā­mi­nyo ma­no­ha­ra­sthi­ta­yaḥ. va­nā­nām atra kā­mi­tā pra­tī­ya­te, sa­mā­so­kti­va­śāt || 4 ||

ma­dhu­li­ho bhra­ma­rāḥ. te­ṣāṃ saṃ­ha­tir asu­khā­ya­ta su­kham anva­bhūt. ‘su­khā­di­bhyaḥ ka­rtṛ­ve­da­nā­yām’* kyaṅ. ku­taḥ? ku­su­mau­ṣa­dhi­saṃ­ba­ndhi­no rasasya saṃ­gra­haḥ pā­nam, tena su­sthi­tā śo­bha­nam āsi­tā. uktaṃ ca-‘ane­ka­ra­so 'bhya­va­hā­ro ra­sā­ya­nam’* iti || 6 ||

ku­su­mi­tā ra­ja­sva­lā api pri­yāḥ prī­ti­he­ta­vaḥ. ma­da­naś ca kā­maḥ. pa­ra­bhṛ­tāḥ pa­re­ṇa po­ṣi­tāḥ pṛ­tha­gja­nā api. ma­de­na nā­di­tā mu­kha­rī­kṛ­tāḥ ṣa­ṭpa­dā bhra­ma­rā vi­ṭāś ca yā­bhis tāḥ || 9 ||
kusu: ki­sa­la­yāny evādha­rāḥ, tatkha­ṇḍa­necchu­bhiḥ ko­ki­laiḥ pu­ṣpi­tā va­na­bhu­va ādṛ­tāḥ. pri­yā abhi­ma­tāḥ. ma­da­nākhyās ta­ra­vaḥ. ma­de­na ki­ñci­tkṣī­ba­ta­yā nā­di­tā ra­si­tāḥ. ataś ca pri­yāḥ kā­ntā iva. tā api ku­su­mi­tāḥ saṃ­jā­ta­ra­jo­da­rśa­nāḥ sa­kā­māś ca.

ma­dhu­retyā­di vi­śe­ṣa­kam. ratira­se­na vi­sṛ­ṣṭā yāḥ sa­va­ya­so va­ca­ne­nā­ga­te pri­ya­ta­me vi­ṣa­ya āya­taṃ mā­naṃ mu­ñca­nti yāḥ, ta­thā­vi­dhā yo­ṣi­to ba­bhū­vuḥ. mā­dha­vy ati­mu­kta­ka­la­tā. ma­lī­ma­sāḥ pā­pāḥ. sma­rasya sa­hāḥ sa­mu­ci­tāḥ ta­ru­ṇīr ity arthaḥ || 10 ||
ma­dhu: ma­no­jña­vi­kā­sā yā mā­dha­vīla­tā­yā ma­dhu­pā­ne­na ma­ttā ma­lī­ma­sāś ca kṛ­ṣṇā, atha ca pā­pi­na iva bhra­ma­rāh stri­yo vya­tha­ya­ntu. nāma yat ku­ra­va­katarusta­ba­kaś ci­ta­yā spī­ta­yā śu­ci­ta­yā śu­ddha­tve­no­pa­la­kṣi­to 'pi vi­ra­hi­ṇīr vya­tha­ya­ti, tad ayu­ktam iti dvā­bhyāṃ kri­yā. śa­tro spa­ṣṭa­ra­saḥ śṛ­ṅgā­rā­di­bhiḥ hāvo 'kṣi­bhrū­vi­kā­rā­di­nā, ta­tsū­ca­ko vyā­pā­raḥ.
da­dhad uda­ñci­ta­pa­kṣma­ka­rā­la­tāṃ ku­ra­ba­ka­sta­ba­ko ma­dhu­bo­dhi­taḥ |
tad asa­ma­ñja­sam eṣa du­no­ti yac chu­ci­ta­yā ci­ta­yā­pi vi­yo­gi­nīḥ || 11 ||
pa­kṣmabhiḥ ke­sa­raiḥ ka­rā­la­tā vyā­ptir bhā­su­ra­tvaṃ vā. śu­ci­ta­yā­py upa­la­kṣi­to yad eṣa sta­ba­kas tā­pa­ya­ti tad ayu­ktam. vi­śa­dā­tma­tvāt pa­ro­pa­tā­pa­nā­bhā­vāt. ci­ta­yā pra­vṛ­ddha­yā. pa­kṣmāṇi ne­tra­lo­mā­ny api. ka­rā­laṃ bhī­ṣa­ṇam api. ma­dhu ma­dyam api || 11 ||
tad abhi­dhā­ya tam āna­ya sa­tva­raṃ ma­dhu­ra­vā­di­ni tat tad iti stri­yaḥ |

tat ta­smāt tat tad ba­hu­vi­dham uktvā taṃ da­yi­taṃ sa­tva­ram āna­ya! na va­yaṃ kā­la­kṣe­pa­sa­hi­ṣṇa­va iti bhā­vaḥ || 12 ||
tada: he ma­dhu­ra­vā­di­ni! ya­smāt ku­ra­ba­ka­sta­ba­ko 'pi vya­tha­ya­ti, tat ta­smāt tat tan nā­nā­pra­kā­raṃ ki­ñcid abhi­dhā­ya taṃ pri­yam āna­yeti rasena sa­khīṣu ni­yu­kta­va­ca­nā abha­van. ata eva gate sati pri­ya­ta­me dī­rgham api mā­naṃ mu­ñca­nti yāḥ. ke­cit tu sā­khī­va­ca­nād āga­te­ṣu pri­ya­ta­me­ṣu mā­na­mu­ca ity ahuḥ ||

pa­ṅka­ja­bī­jaṃ pa­dmā­kṣaḥ. vya­va­dhir ācchā­da­nam. strivi­ra­he sati va­dha­yo­ga­kṛ­to ghā­tu­kāḥ. strī­ha­na­nāc ca ma­dya­pā­na­prā­ga­lbhyaṃ ma­li­nā­tma­nāṃ ki­yat || 13 ||
jara: pa­ri­ṇa­taiḥ pa­ṅka­ja­bī­jaiḥ pa­dmā­kṣais tu­lyatvi­ṣo bhṛ­ṅgāḥ. ma­dhu niḥśe­ṣe­ṇa pā­tuṃ pra­ga­lbhā āsan. vya­va­dhiḥ hā­raṃ. vi­ra­he sati stri­yo va­dha­yo­ga­kṛ­taḥ mā­ra­kāḥ.
su­ra­bhi­mā­si ka­dā­cid anu­jjhi­tā ja­ḍa­ta­yā­pi na­vā­li­śa­tā­nvi­tāḥ |
śa­ma­va­tām api tā­ma­ra­sā­ka­rāḥ sthi­ra­ta­rā ra­ta­rā­ga­kṛ­to 'bha­van || 14 ||
ja­ḍa­ta­yā mau­ne­na na tya­ktāḥ. bā­li­śa­ta­yā ca mau­gdhye­na na sa­hi­tā iti vi­ro­dhaḥ. ja­ḍa­ta­yā śai­tye­nā­na­pā­kṛ­tāḥ. na­vā­ni ca yāny ali­śa­tā­ni, tair anvi­tāḥ. ... || 14 ||
sura: ja­ḍa­tā śai­tyam. na­vair ali­śa­tair bhra­ma­ra­vṛ­ndair anvi­tāḥ. ataś ca ye ja­ḍa­ta­yā mau­rkhye­nā­tya­ktāḥ, te ka­thaṃ bā­li­śa­ta­yā mū­rkha­tve­na yu­ktā na syur iti. vi­ro­dhaḥ: mu­nī­nām api rate su­ra­ta­vi­ṣa­ye rā­gaṃ ku­rva­nti ye.

sara: sa­ra­saṃ ma­ntha­raṃ ca kṛ­tvā tā­ma­ra­savi­ṣa­yenāda­re­ṇa bhra­ma­rāṇāṃ sa­jjaḥ pra­tyā­sa­nno laya 'śeṣo ya­syām. sphu­ṭa­ta­rā­ga­tā jātā rāgeṇā­ru­ṇa­ta­yā ru­cir ya­syāḥ. apa­ra­tra sa­ra­sā ma­nthe ca ratā ye 'ma­rāḥ, te­ṣāṃ sā­dam ava­sā­daṃ ti da­dā­ti yo bhra­mo bhra­ma­ṇam, tena ra­sat sa­śa­bdaṃ ja­laṃ ya­sya. tayāgasya ma­nda­rā­drer yaḥ ta­ras ta­ra­ṇam, te­nā­ge­na ca pā­ri­jā­ta­ta­ru­ṇā ru­cir ya­syāḥ, iti vi­bha­kti­vi­pa­ri­ṇā­me­na yo­jyam.

nya­vi­śa­tā­nu­gi­raṃ ka­ma­lā­ka­rān ra­sa­ma­nāḥ sa­ma­nā­dam ali­vra­jaḥ || 16 ||
ca­ra­maḥ pa­ści­maḥ. saṃ­pu­ṭo dva­yam. anu­gi­raṃ gi­ri­sa­mī­pe, ‘gi­reś ca se­na­ka­sya’* iti ṭac. rase ma­dhu­ni mano ya­sya saḥ. sa­ma­nā­daṃ tu­lya­dhva­niṃ kṛ­tvā || 16 ||

mṛga: mṛgākṣyas sā­ga­sas sā­pa­rā­dhān api da­yi­tān nā­bhi­cu­kru­dhur iti kru­dhi dru­hī­ti ca­tu­rthī bā­dhi­kā. ‘kru­dha­dru­hor upa­sṛ­ṣṭa­yoḥ’* iti dvi­tī­yā. ūrji­ta udbha­ṭo 'pi yaḥ sma­raḥ, ta­dbhā­ve­na. ra­tā­rtham yā­naṃ ga­ma­nam.

da­yi­taṃ pra­ti na kopo yu­ktaḥ, tam āna­ya tvam’ ity āśa­ye­na yo­ṣid ana­va­me śre­ṣṭhe ma­nda­rasya sā­nu­ni āliṃ gatā sa­khī ja­gā­ma. na­vam apū­rvaṃ ama­nda­ra­sā ba­ha­lā­nu­rā­gā anu­nī­tiḥ prā­rtha­nā ya­tra ta­thā kṛ­tvā ca tena āli­ṅga­tā saṃ­pa­ri­ṣv aja­mā­ne­na sā pra­sā­di­tā || 93 ||
la­kṣmīṃ va­ha­ntam ṛtu­bhir na­gam ity udaṃ­śu-
ra­tna­stha­lī­vi­ka­si­tā­ma­la­ke­sa­rā­gam |
dra­ṣṭuṃ pra­bhur ni­ra­ga­ma­llu­li­te sa­lī­lam
īṣat spṛ­śan gi­ri­su­tām ala­ke sa­rā­gam || 94 ||
stha­līṣu vi­ka­si­tā ama­lāḥ ke­sa­rā­gā ba­ku­la­ta­ra­vo ya­sya taṃ gi­riṃ dra­ṣṭuṃ sa­rā­gam ala­ke gau­rī spṛ­śa­nn īśva­ro vi­ni­rya­yau. lu­li­te ku­ṭi­lī­kṛ­te || 94 ||

iti śrī­bā­la­bṛ­ha­spa­tya­nu­jī­vi­no vā­gī­śva­rā­ṅka­sya vi­dyā­dhi­pa­tya­pa­ra­nā­mno ma­hā­ka­ve rā­jā­na­ka­śrī­ra­tnā­ka­ra­sya kṛ­tau ra­tnā­ṅke ha­ra­vi­ja­ye ma­hā­kā­vye ṛtu­va­rṇa­no nāma tṛ­tī­yaḥ sa­rgaḥ |

iti rā­jā­na­ka­ja­yā­na­ka­sū­nor ala­ka­sya kṛ­tau ha­ra­vi­ja­ya­vi­ṣa­ma­pa­do­ddyo­te tṛ­tī­yaḥ sa­rgaḥ ||
